Red wine vinegar, like all wine vinegars, is made from wine. A fermentation process transform it into vinegar. At the end of the vinegar fermentation process there may be a small amount of residual alcohol - think 0.1% or 0.2% ABV (alcohol by volume). Wine vinegar tends to have a lower acidity than white or cider vinegars.

- Make your own salad dressing. Use 1 part red wine vinegar to 3 parts oil along with some salt and pepper and other seasonings for a quick vinaigrette dressing.
- Use it in a marinade.
- Make pickles/ chutneys
- Add it to roasted vegetables.
