Macaroni is a dry pasta shaped into narrow curved tubes, and is consequently sometimes referred to as elbow pasta. It is made by dough-kneading, drawing and drying of durum wheat semolina and water. An absolute staple in the classic 'mac and cheese' dish, or served cold in pasta salads.
