Pine nuts are the edible seeds of around 20 species of pine trees. With a smooth, buttery taste and texture, they are great to eat fresh or lightly toasted and sprinkled on pies, salads and in cooking. Pine nuts are also a pretty essential component of pesto, and are frequently added to meat, fish, and vegetable dishes.
